Self-Portrait

This self-portrait was done in acrylic paint on an illustration board. Complementary colours were chosen for this piece to create vibrancy, interest and harmony. This includes the blue background with the orange and red sections of the shirt as well as the green of the hair. Solid shapes were used to define the form of the face through the use of different colour tones, representing the different areas of shadows and highlights. The details of the facial features are in a simplistic style, using minimal amounts of shapes to define them.
